My third learning project where I explored gamification concepts and studied how fitness apps motivate users through achievements, social features, and progress tracking.
For my third project, I was curious about gamification and how fitness apps keep users motivated. I wanted to explore concepts like achievements, progress tracking, and social features through design.
I researched popular fitness apps like Strava and Nike Training Club, studied gamification principles online, and created concept screens to practice designing motivational features.
Through studying fitness apps and gamification principles, I learned about different ways to motivate users and keep them engaged.
Here are the gamification concepts I practiced designing in this fitness app concept project.
I designed a badge system to celebrate user milestones like "First 5K" or "7-Day Streak." This was my first time thinking about how visual rewards can motivate behavior change.
I explored different ways to show user progress through charts, streaks, and visual indicators. This helped me learn about data visualization and making numbers feel meaningful.
I conceptualized friend challenges and group activities to explore how social features can motivate fitness. This was my first time thinking about community-driven design.
Key insights and skills I gained from exploring gamification in fitness app design.
